Abstract

|
A clinical follow-up study and short literature review was made on 64 cases of vagotomy and gastric drainage pocedure in duodenal ulcer patients during the past 2 years from March 1965 to the end of 2 years, August 1967, at National Medical Center.
(1) No one was observed to be recurrent ulcer or death case due to operative procedure itself so far. But more longterm follow-up study is inevitable and expected toconclude any definite and significant results obtained.
(2) The average reduction rate of the gastric acidity after vagotomy and gastric drainage is above 67% and only one case of severe diarrhea which is much intractable and trouble-some observed.
